We are on a mission to empower communities in Kluang, Johor! In November, Epic Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.

We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.

About Kampung Orang Asli Seri Kenangan

Kampung Orang Asli Seri Kenangan, established in 1952, is located on Orang Asli reserve land and carries a rich history of cultural integration and resilience. Once a bustling market town inhabited by Chinese settlers, it later became a gathering place for the Jakun tribe, evolving into the close-knit village it is today. Known for its strong sense of unity, the villagers embrace both tradition and modernity, with many engaged in fishing and small-scale farming while adopting contemporary lifestyles.

They aspire to expand their village, secure proper housing, and improve economic opportunities through small businesses. Their deep-rooted gotong-royong spirit and shared cultural celebrations make them unique, as they strive for a sustainable and prosperous future.

We are looking for 18 Pathfinders to map this village.

Who are Pathfinders?


Pathfinders assist the Lead Pathfinders to engage with communities. They use conversational skills to gather accurate information and data, which can then be used to tell compelling stories that inspire change.

Pathfinders must be able to speak Malay at a basic conversational level.

Training: The Pathfinder Workshop

Interested but don't know what to expect or don't have the skill set to do so? Don't worry! We provide the training to equip you with the necessary skills to do so! (This workshop is compulsory for all new Pathfinders).

The workshop will be held on Friday, February 14th, at (TBC) Kluang. Upon signing up, a link to join the call will be sent.
