We are on a mission to empower communities in Hulu Selangor! In May, Epic Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.

We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.

About Kampung Orang Asli Pertak

Nestled in the serene embrace of nature lies Kampung Orang Asli Pertak, a village that stands as a testament to resilience and community spirit. Established in 2000, this village has flourished into a thriving community comprising 51 homes amidst 600 acres of lush land.

Despite facing challenges such as overcrowding in some homes, the villagers of Kampung Pertak continue to embody unity and strength. Their close-knit community, located near Kuala Kubu Bharu, is a gateway to the breathtaking waterfall that beckons visitors from afar.

With a population of around 480 individuals, including resilient elders and bright-eyed youth, Kampung Pertak stands as a beacon of tradition and progress. Their local leaders want to uplift their community by introducing small agricultural businesses and livestock farming.

We are looking for 10 Pathfinders to map this village.

Who are Pathfinders?


Pathfinders assist the Lead Pathfinders to engage with communities. They use conversational skills to gather accurate information and data, which can then be used to tell compelling stories that inspire change.

Pathfinders must be able to speak Malay at a basic conversational level.

Training: The Pathfinder Workshop

Interested but don't know what to expect or don't have the skill set to do so? Don't worry! We provide the training to equip you with the necessary skills to do so! (This workshop is compulsory for all new Pathfinders).

The workshop will be held on Saturday, 27th of July at PARC Subang, Selangor:
