A joint effort to build playscapes in a low-cost housing in Selangor

Background

On Dec 12th, Epic held an event and organised community build activities at Idaman Apartments. Due to a short time frame, we were unable to complete certain parts of the build. We now seek your help to join us on a weekend to complete the build.

Come on out and join us on a fun weekend together with the community at Idaman Apartments!

Our Intention

The Community Development activities are intended to further the aspirations and development led by the Joint Management Body of Idaman Apartments in Damansara Damai through design and build activities such as refurbishing underutilised spaces, painting and upgrading community garden. This showcases how low-cost housing areas can be a place of dignity and inspiration while enabling the vision and strengths of the community. 

What will you be building?

Playscapes & Sports Area

1. Playground tunnels

2. Multi-purpose court painting

3. Touch-up bench seating

4. Completing a series of playscapes (structure is already up)

Community Garden

1. Planter box

2. Placing potted plants in the garden

3. Painting timber structure (structure is completed)

Requirements

- Must be 18 and above

- For playscapes only (To ensure quality and safety standards, we require you to have completed a Basic Builder Workshop with Epic)

- For sports area and community garden (Open to ALL, no Basic Builder Workshop required)

- Someone who is interested in creating social impact in community service in a low-cost housing area.

- It is not compulsory to attend BOTH days. If you can only attend for ONE day, do let us know in advance.
