Build toilets with the Kg. Hulu Tamu Community! Week 13 (24th September 2017)

What’s this about?

EPIC has been working with Kg. Hulu Tamu community since 2010, building 33 homes over 6 years, building relationships between residents and builders so that they support each other and find new, creative ways to exchange skills and knowledge.

The residents have requested for assistance in helping them build 26 toilets & 21 bathrooms, and we started on April 23rd. The villagers will be your on-site leaders, supported local coordinators, a Specialist/Team leader and YOU! Click here to read up on the full background of the Project.

When is this happening?

The projects are scheduled for every Sunday until we complete the project, which we plan to complete in September. Please note that we are working this arrangement out with the village, and the dates are subject to villagers’ confirmation and sufficient number of volunteer registrations. We will continue to put up the weekly missions so you can plan ahead.

How do I register?

What happens at the Build?

Agenda
Prior to the Build, we'll invite you to a briefing where you can meet the team and get all your questions answered.

Build Day:
0830 - Meet at a designated spot (determined during briefing).
0930 - Arrive at Batang Kali
1000 - Build begins! Introduction to On-Site Local Leaders & Families
1230 - Lunch time
1330 - Build continues
1800 - End of day

What else do I need to know?

• Mission Briefings will be conducted before the build at The Collective, No. 20 Jalan PJS11/18 Bandar Sunway. Your team leaders will set up a Whatsapp Group to arrange a convenient time. During the Briefing, we will share the agenda of the day, sort out groups and meet each other.
• Bring along RM50 to cover lunch & carpooling. This is just an estimate, but it shouldn't go beyond this. If you are feeling extra generous, you can choose to use the balance for subsidising villagers' lunch & participation
• You are required to have a safety helmet during the build. If you do not have a safety helmet, you have the option of either purchasing the helmet alone or the Builder Kit that consists of a helmet, gloves, a toolbelt, and poncho from us. We will make the arrangements during the Mission Briefing and on the morning before the build. Builder Kit: RM32.00, Safety Helmet: RM14.00
