SPREADING AWARENESS ABOUT THE REFUGEE KIDS IN MALAYSIA AND OFFERING HELP TO THEM

We have chosen to do this project to raise awareness on the child refugees in Malaysia due to the lack of knowledge of our people about the child refugees in our country. We are going to visit the Manna House in Sunway Mentari and provide love and care to the poor child refugees in that place as many people actually do not care much for them especially the locals in Malaysia. We will also teach them basic life skills to them as these child refugees were robbed from having basic education due to their special circumstances. They are also frequently mistreated as some think that “outsiders” do not deserve to receive benefits.

Other than that, we will also open booth in Sunway College for 2 days to sell some titbits in order to raise funds to provide them necessities. While we are opening booth, we will also inform the students about the child refugees in Malaysia to make them understand these child refugees better, this could spread awareness about the refugees to our community. 

It does not stop here, we will also open a social media account and put up updates about out projects. It helps to spread awareness through social platform as well.

PROJECT TIMELINE:

6 JANUARY 2020 : FIRST DAY OF FUNDRAISING BOOTH

7 JANUARY 2020 : SECOND DAY OF FUNDRAISING BOOTH

Task 1:  Telling the students about the situation of the child refugees in Malaysia and how they are not given the right to study and get education in Malaysia.

Task 2 : Raising funds by selling goodies pack to provide necessities to the child refugees learning centre.

13 JANUARY 2020: FIRST VISIT TO MANNA HOUSE LEARNING CENTRE @ DATARAN MENTARI, SUNWAY

Task:

- Teaching the child refugees to write and use basic magic words (such as "Thank you" and "Sorry") and bond with them to offer love and care to them.

- Getting information about the refugees in Malaysia from the director, who is an expert for this issue.

Task:

- Teaching arts and craft to these child refugees (eg. making Thank you and Birthday cards & origami) to boost up their skills and we may even find children who are gifted with art talent.
