It was a great training session to gather with like-minded and amazing volunteers that aim to work together for a good cause. The organizers gave a concise explanation about the materials and teaching process to all of us. They were really welcoming and warm with the volunteers from different ages and backgrounds.

I really enjoyed the experience. Despite in the beginning, feeling slightly anxious as I did not know what to expect, I was quite surprised that everything was very organised and well-planned in the sense that the students had a syllabus to go through. I would love to join more missions in the future :)

As this is my first time doing a volunteer activities, I'm quite nervous but MYReaders team is really helpful and they guide a first timer volunteer very well. It was fun and seeing how eager the kids want to learn to read, it makes me happy. It definitely worth to spend your weekend with them. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I will definitely join this activity again.

Teaching these eager kids to read is rewarding. Apart from just reading, making a connection with the kids and showing them that we care, are some of the intangible impressions that we leave behind.

Not without its challenges. It was my first time teaching kids, but the organisers/committee members really did their best in helping me get used to the experience. If you're looking for something that will actually make an impact, this is the mission for you. Did not regret signing up, and hoping to make this a permanent way to spend my Saturdays. Would like for there to be more opportunities for fellow volunteers.

Interesting concept to help provide a space/an avenue for children of various ages to learn English.
Should the emphasis be made on pronunciation/meaning/communication?

Either way, it is an eye opener to anyone not involved in the education line.
People should try it, to satisfy one's curiosity.
