About
Baktisiswa is a community service programme under the University of Malaya Medical Society (UM MEDSOC), led by pre-clinical medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. The prime objective of this project is to reach out to the community by providing health care services and raise awareness on the importance of rural healthcare as well as to inculcate the spirit of volunteering among medical students.
Baktisiswa focuses on addressing healthcare and education inequality in rural areas. This year, we are conducting it in Pos Betau, Pahang. Baktisiswa includes a series of activities such as health screening for rural residents, health educational talks, and education empowerment programmes. For the past few years, Baktisiswa has successfully achieved the project objectives, benefiting both the rural community and the medical students involved. Therefore, we believe that this project will continue to have a positive impact on society as well as our students.
